May Welland/ Countess Olenska

So i've been reading 'The age of innocence'. It all sounds brilliant but I only started because of gossip girls references to it. But i did get into it. Plus i love all the clothes descriptions.
Anyway when i looked at the Dior Couture SS pictures i thought that they reminded me of it,
not so much the Scorsese version but how i pictured the book. I always thought that may would be a blondie and that ellen olenska would a brunette. Purely on stereotypes though because Blonde is seen as more innocent (completely untrue!) and Brunette as well darker, so i think gossip girls version was a little better (obviously just the clothes!)

Serena as May and Blair as Ellen

Plus he dresses in this are amazing, god bless Eric Darman!!! aso here is Michelle Pfeifer as Ellen and Winona Rider as May

although they are both great in it paticurly W.R i prefer the gg version.

May and Ellen with the player that is Newland Archer!!

Anyway back to the point here are the Dior SS Pictures.

I pictured a very fair May getting married in one of these,

There very elegant and lacey but they still look youthful, with a little length on them i bet May would've married in one, probably the one with the hat although i prefer the other!!

These 2 outfits are very ellen olenska to me, they remind of the bit in the movie when he goes to see her at Skuytercliffe (obviously wrong spelling) and shes running up the hill in the cold with a dog. These two are so country glamour they we're amazing!!

Annother obviously Ellen dress, but a classier more county-ish ellen.

May obviously, i thought this might be one of her summer dresses she bought in paris honeymooning with Newland. Although as with all the dresses they would need to be far longer!!!

So there is more to 'the age of innocence' than we thought!!!
